split storage across exchange / hot wallet / cold — review (at what size do you move?)

keeping it all on an exchange felt risky, all-cold made trading a pain, so I split into 3 tiers. - Trading (frequent): on the exchange (one with a fee rebate) - Middle (alts I touch sometimes): hot wallet (MetaMask etc.) - Long-term (BTC/ETH I won't touch): hardware wallet (cold) my cutoff is 'would losing this actually hurt'. The bigger the amount, the more it goes cold. Keep only what you need to trade on the exchange. 'not your keys, not your coins' isn't just a saying
